# Privacy Policy

Documesh is a documentation search service. We designed it to need as little personal data as possible.

## What we collect

- **No accounts, no sign-up.** The API and web app work without registration.
- **No tracking cookies or analytics beacons.** The site sets no cookies.
- **Server logs:** Cloudflare (our host) processes standard request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and abuse prevention, retained per Cloudflare's defaults. We do not sell or share these logs.
- **Query content:** search queries and error excerpts you submit are processed to return results and are not persisted to storage by Documesh; only aggregate rate-limit counters exist in memory.

## What we don't do

- No profiling, no advertising, no cross-site tracking.
- No training of models on your queries.
- No third-party analytics scripts on the site.

## Data in the index

The documentation index contains only publicly published, openly licensed material (CC-BY, MIT, Apache-2.0, BSD-style). No personal data is ingested. Sources and their licenses are listed on the [coverage page](https://documesh.selatan.org/coverage.html).
